No Reading This Week - YES you can read my post!

So Chapter 4 is reading deprivation week. I know, I know this is HARD! Just do the best you can. Reread pages 87-88 in the book if you find yourself wondering "now WHY are we doing this?"

What Carol and I can say from our experience is that this is a powerful tool and you will likely have some new insights in incorporating this exercise into your life this week. Remember, it's ONLY for a week!!

You can post here how it's going for you and though we'd suggest not reading each other posts for this week, feel free to unleash your frustration, anger, new insights, and accomplishments (artistic and otherwise) here!

Take care and good luck!

Best,
Kate and Carol

  1. OK this is harder than I remember! I found myself yesterday at work suddenly on Hugo House's website reading away (something I couldn't justify was work related) and thinking "Oh my gosh, I'm READING!" It's amazing how unconsciously I do it.

So what am I finding? Well, this morning instead of zoning out to the Today show I got dressed in silence and listened to my own thoughts. I'm so glad I did as I started thinking about this one friend and realized "Yikes, I made dinner plans with him!" which I would have totally spaced out I think had it not been for that morning silence. I'm also finding my checkbook is getting balanced (for once), I'm going to try to do my own taxes (clearly THAT can't count as reading) and go to the recycle to take my old tv that has been taking up way too much space in my closet. I'm sure more will be revealed this week and am trying to stay open to that instead of pouting about not getting to read!!

    How about you??

    Best,
    Kate
